1.Cities around the world are ringing in 2014, with Berlin, Hong Kong, Sydney and Dubai putting on some of the most impressive fireworks displays during New Year's Eve celebrations on Tuesday. Britain welcomed 2014 with a mixture of futuristic fireworks and torch-lit tradition. For people in London, the New Year offered the opportunity to taste the fireworks. Dubai put on a six-minute extravaganza with 500,000 fireworks fired from 400 locations across the city. Besides the fireworks, there were prayers and hopes for a brighter 2014.
